Hot Water Solar Panels
A hot water solar panel is a solar water heater that uses the sun's energy to heat water, or another type of liquid. The water is used to transfer the heat to a heat storage vessel, such as a hot water tank.

Flat solar-thermal collectors with absorber plates are placed on the roof. The absorber is coated with a dark surface that converts the sun's energy into heat. Water circulation tubes are attached to the absorber plate and carry the heat away where it can be used or stored. The water is pumped to a heat exchanger, which is a coil in the storage vessel or an external heat exchanger where it gives off its heat and is then circulated back to the panel to be reheated.
